Mr Richard, Mr Vuille and Mr Stouvenel
Born in 1856, Mr Charles Vuille completed his studies in Geneva and became a member of the Genevan Bar Association at the age of 24. He began working as a trainee at the law firm Des Gouttes et Demole and later continued at Mr Raisin’s firm before finally forming a partnership with his brother-in-law, Mr Stouvenel, and Mr Eugène Richard.
Mr Vuille became president of the Genevan Bar Association, then representative of the aforesaid Association at the Swiss Federation of Lawyers. He served as a substitute judge to the Court of first instance from 1892 to 1900 and as a parliamentarian to the Genevan Grand Council for one legislative period. When Mr Richard left, Mr Vuille and Mr Stouvenel became partners, together with Mr Philippe Dunant. They subsequently hired Mr Edouard Aymonier as an associate. When Mr Stouvenel and Mr Dunant left the firm, Mr Vuille became partners with Mr Aymonier.
Mr Vuille passed away on the 6th of March, 1920, aged 64.
Mr Eugène Stouvenel was born in 1857 and completed his studies in both Geneva and Leipzig. He was later to become Mr Vuille’s brother-in-law. Admitted as a member of the Genevan Bar Association in November 1881, he became partners with Mr Richard and with his brother-in-law, Mr Vuille. Later, Mr Stouvenel formed a partnership with Mr Philippe Dunant, thus replacing Mr Richard, and finally he founded a law firm with his son, Georges, at la rue de la Tour-Maîtresse.
He worked for a long time as Treasurer of the Genevan Bar Association and served as substitute judge for several months at the Court of First Instance.
Mr Stouvenel passed away on the 11th of November, 1924 in Geneva, aged 66.
