When Mr Aymonier passed away, Mr Pierre Jaccoud took over both his firm as well as the law firm of Mr Jaccoud’s own father, Mr André Jaccoud.

 

Born in 1876, Mr André Jaccoud began wor king as a legal clerk at age 13 in the firm belonging to Mr Adrien Lachenal senior and Mr Hudry. Mr Jaccoud read law and successfully passed the Bar exam in 1896.

 

In 1901, he became a partner with Mr Edouard Odier and then with Mr John Renaud. Several years later when he was head of the firm located in the rue de la Croix d'Or he took on his associate, Mr Marcel Brunet, as a partner, who was later tragically killed in a mountain accident in February 1928. He also worked as a substitute judge at the Court of First Instance and then as substitute judge at the Court of Justice. He was also Municipal Councillor of the City of Geneva, parliamentarian to the Genevan Grand Council for 20 years and five times President of the Municipal Council. He died on the 10th of July, 1941 following a long and painful illness.

 

Born in 1905, Mr Pierre Jaccoud began as an associate of the firm and later a partner with his father, Mr André Jaccoud, before taking over his father’s firm and that of Mr Aymonier. He served as a substitute judge at the Court of Appeal as well as President of the Genevan Bar Association between 1953 and 1954. He played a role in the creation of the Société Suisse du Droit d’Auteur (Swiss Copyright Association). He was also Municipal Councillor of the City of Geneva and parliamentarian to the Genevan Grand Council. When he retired from the Bar in 1958, his firm was taken over by his two associates, Mr Charles-André Junod and Mr Jaques Guyet. The latter left the firm in June 1992 and died on the 31st of May, 2008.
