Mr Vuille and Mr Aymonier

Born at the end of the 19th century, Mr Edouard Aymonier was sworn in as a lawyer on the 25th July, 1905. He practised law and was elected substitute judge at the Court of First Instance in 1919 and then to the Court of Justice from 1937 to 1942. He completed his internship at the law firm run by Mr Vuille, Mr Stouvenel and Mr Dunant and specialised in intellectual property. He later worked under the guidance of Mr Dunant, who, at the time, was the resident emeritus specialist in copyright and trademark law in Geneva. Once his trainee period was over, he began working as Mr Vuille’s associate and later his partner. When Mr Vuille passed away, Mr Aymonier took over his firm which he continued to expand over time.

In 1922 his peers elected him to the Council of the Genevan Bar Association for which he worked as the secretary, then the Vice-President and finally, the President in 1927, a role he held for 6 years. Mr Aymonier was also a member of the magistracy of the Genevan Judicial Order.

Mr Aymonier died from a grave illness on the 12th of February, 1946.
